Make good use of Coffee Grounds

As with everything we do in our business, we aim for Zerowaste, along with upcycling and reusing opportunities. Since we've opened our Coffee bar we've been looking for creative ways to reuse the coffee grounds. It is a plant-based resource and safe to use in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways. And of course ours is Triple certified (Organic, Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance) so extra valuable. Cleaning out the Fire Cleaning out the cold ashes can be a horrible job when it raises a lot of dust. If you sprinkle used coffee grounds over the ashes first, it makes shovelling it...

What is "Greenwashing"?

So, if we claim not to engage in ‘Green Washing’, what do we mean?
First we would like to clarify what is meant by ‘green washing’. Companies sometimes label their products “eco-friendly” or “environmentally friendly” without them being so. This is called “greenwashing” and certain companies use marketing campaigns aimed at environmentally conscious buyers to increase their product sales. To avoid purchasing products that you may suspect as being “greenwashed” ask the supplier for facts and information which verify the products claims.
